As CEO and Co-founder of Legacy EV, the face of aftermarket EVs, Rob combined his passion for aftermarket restorations with his electrical engineering and entrepreneurial spirit to build Legacy EV into an innovative industry leader. He has built dozens of classic cars, most notably, a 1930 Model-A Sedan that went from a hot rod resto-mod to an impressive 400 volt EV repower. His builds have won awards and accolades that include six magazine features, four magazine covers, a Top Truck Award, and a place in a Premiere Classic Car Auction Top 50. His 23+ years of experience in electrical systems integration afforded him the opportunity to use that depth of knowledge to create some of the most cutting edge EVs in the industry. His company has created the first Certified EV Technician Program in the nation and developed an international network of EV authorized installers. With this entrepreneurial fortitude, he has forged distribution agreements with major manufacturers across the EV industry, negotiated EV conversion contracts with government agencies, and plays an integral role with battery manufactures, pushing EVs and battery capabilities to world records.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Rob has been married to his high school sweetheart for 20 years this June. Heidi, his rock, keeps the train on the tracks which has allowed him to grow his businesses while still making time for his family. They have 3 children, Greysen, Brynnley, and Heartley who love to spend family time on the lake wake surfing. His son and him enjoy playing the drums, talking business, or most recently, learning how he can help his dad’s company, Greysen took the certified technician training during spring break and has earned the nickname “The Future”. As a family, they enjoy volunteering with their ministry to grow and deliver healthy food to local senior communities and teach young people about nutrition and gardening.
Selecting Rob Ward as a SEMA Board member would not only honor the value of classic cars and custom vehicles, but acknowledge advancing technology in the automotive industry.
